Quick question...
I got in my 03 A4 this morning and put 4 CD's in the 6 disc changer. (the changer is built into the dash) I then set in the Menu to "Random: Changer". I want it to radomize all the songs across the all the CD's in my changer. I don't have the Bose sound package but it should be able to do this. However, I started to notice all the songs playing were only coming from the last disc I inserted (disc 5). I started skipping the tracks and it was only randomizing the songs on that one CD. It never changed CD's and I went through probably 25 tracks (songs came on more than once).

Do I have a broken CD changer or am I not doing something? Should I take it in to the dealer to have it looked at? Does this work for anyone else?

The CD changer- when on random- plays 80% of the tracks on one cd in a random order before switching over to another CD. Audi claims this cuts back on the undesirable CD change after every track. I think its a good idea yes, but doesn't need to be 80%.

 

Yeah, I just found this out. Thanks for your reply because I didn't know it was 80%. I wish that number was adjustable because I would actually like it to switch CD's more often when on random.

I made a trip to the dealer and the one of the guys there informed me of this. Although it wasn't a wasted trip. While there I got them to program my car to lock all the doors at 14mph and unlock them all when I remove the key from the ignition. And they even did it for free.
