rattlesnake in engine??
OK so this has been bugging me for a while now.
Whenever i accelerate and step on the clutch and my engine starts to spool down, the sound of a rattlesnake's tail shaking can be heard
Anyone having similar issues? How'd you fix it?
I'm guessing it's something loose, but i can't find it. Seems to be coming from over by the cat or from inside the cat.

Sounds exactly like what happened to my car:
Would only ratttle when I was off the throttle... was a worn out turbo wastegate.
Eventually the wastegate wouldn't close properley so I started losing power...
Had to replace the turbo

dont know much about turbo so it could be that as far as i know but
from what it sounds like with it only happening when you step on the clutch
it could be your clutch disc or throwout bearing. if its the throwout bearing
you might here a whining noise too if its the disc it should make the noise when
the clutch slows down and speeds up to engage

Sounds like a rattling wastegate flapper. I fixed mine about a month ago. If this is the case, you should be able to hear it rattle when decelarating and when you goose the engine at idle.
If this is the problem, you will need to remove the turbo. Inspect the flapper and wategate opening in the exhaust side of the turbo. If everything looks good there, you should be able to fix it. If the opening in the exhaust side or the flapper is chipped or beat up in any way, you will have to replace the exhaust side of the turbo, have your exhaust side rebuilt or replace the turbo.
First check to make sure the nuts on the actuator arm are tight against the flapper arm. A tiny gap can cause this problem so look closely. If they are loose you will need to reset them. I posted how to do that a few weeks ago.
If the nuts on the actuator arm are tight against the flapper and the flapper seems to sit tight in it's opening, you probably have a worn out actuator that needs to be replaced. You can get an actuator from ECS tuning. If the flapper doesn't sit tight in it's opening, try reseting the nuts on the actuator arm.
Don't forgot to use new hardware and gaskets when you reinstall everything. Also make sure to use lock-tite on the nuts on the actuator arm if you have to reset them.

I think mine is doing this right now. I will gun the engine really hard, like let's say on a freeway. Then, when I brake moderatly, I can hear a "ting ting ta ta ting ting" underneath the hood. It lasts for about 10 seconds while the turbo is "spooling down". It dosn't do it if I "baby" the turbo, i.e. not accelerating hard. Is this the same thing? If so, I need to take it to the dealership while it's under warrenty, I don't want my turbo going out leaving me stranded somewhere... Someone let me know.
im having a simliar noise but my turbo has less then 3k miles on it, and changing out the turbo didnt change the noise for me.. but i wasnt trying to elimiate the noise with the turbo change i went to a ko4 because my ko3 was beat.. but would like to know what the noise is
