Default Re-Paint HOOD or go with Carbon Fiber ?

My car: 1999.5 A4 1.8TQM sport package. When I bought the car, theres a little oxidation or like the paint is fadingon the hood, it's been 8 months now..and it's getting worst. I'm beginning to do some mods on my car, got the forge dv, h&r springs, giac chip, k&n drop in, rs4 grille, sound system, etc. I was wondering, should I repaint the damn hood or should i just buy a carbon fiber hood. I don't know what to do. To repaint at a local shop, it's around 400-600. What do you guys think?...(Don't flame me, I already search this **** up.)

that seems steep for just a hood to get repainted. I would either find someplace cheaper or go CF if you want it lighter and/or like the look.

I think 400-600 is reasonable for a hood to be repainted.. i mean crap you pay for what you get.. if you want a good paint job it costs money.

I would say get the CF hood, but be aware that it might take some work to get it to line up just right

if you're definatly going to be dropping at least 500 on your hood, spend a little more and get a cf hood. you can pick up a brand new VIS OEM style hood for 700 including shipping, or a Seibon OEM hood shipped for 600. i lucked out and picked up a used VIS cf hood from a buddy of mine for cheap. my car is volcano black, and the cf color is soo close that you can't even see that its cf unless you're right on top of it.

You can always paint the carbon fiber hood if it comes to it, plus its lighter, and people will never know.

Would an unpainted one look good with lit silver?
