realistic? or am i way off?
whats up guys? i posted a few weeks ago asking about what A4 i should get, readthe links people posted for me, searched autotrader, cars.com, andresearched performace options for v6 and 4cyl andive decided on a 2001 5spd 1.8T Quattro. (i like the b5 bodystyle). now ive got another question for you guys...obviously ide like to get the lowest mileage possible, but when do these cars tend to start having problems? My car now i got with 105,000 miles and ide really like to get a car with far below that. im hoping for around 50,000 or less for around $12-13,000, does this sound realistic? how many miles did your a4 have on it? how much did you spend?
thanks in advance for any replies.
and if i find one for a decent price, GTRS kit? I think so.

that sounds fairly close.... but maybe a little more for that kind of mileage.... i dunno about finding one with only 50k on it. Remember, the 01s are now 6 years old.... that would be less than 10k a year. Possible, but not probable. The A4 is meant to be a daily driver.
Its a shame you don't know someone like I do that is willing to sell an 01 A4 with 62k on it for only 8 grand.
Good luck in the used car hunt though!

and thanks for the replies! glad to know my dream may soon be reality [sm=shades.gif]haha
Try finding a smaller dealership that buys auction cars. I know a guy who owns a smaller dealership that strictly gets auction cars in good shape. You can usually go there and tell them exactly what you want at what price and they will find it. I got my car w/ 50k miles cold weather, premium package+morefor $17,100. I could total the thing and get $20k plus for itright now!!! Good luck, and yeah stick to the 1.8t if you want a A4.
