Checking one service organization's recommendation over another: if one garage (A) says I need to replace both rear tie rods on my 2000 A4, and I ask another garage (B) to complete a 4 wheel alignment for me, would the B garage be able to complete an adequate 4 Wheel alignment without noticing or replacing the tie rods?

 

If it is reputable garage they will tell you if the tie rods are bad as well and recommend they be replaced before an alignment. If nothing is broken you can always do an alignment it just want hold very long.
