Default Recommended shifting with tiptronic...

Just got my first Audi (A4 2.0TQ) and I am not getting the manual/shifting thing with the tiptronic. Is there a recommended shifting pattern for the manual mode? It seems like you're supposed to ease off the gas a bit when shifting etc. Manual doesn't offer up any recommendations for shifting this thing.

Any recomendations (besides switching to a manual-only tranny)?

tiptronic is an automatic
u do not need to let go or ease of the gas when u shift
just shift when u feel like it
if u dont shift the car will shift for u when it reaches redline
and if u dont down shift the car will do it for u so u dont stall
its almost fool proof

just get used to it and find the rite moment to shift the gears
for normal driving i like to shift at 2500 to 3000rpm

The auto tiptronic is nothing like a real manual, so dont worry about shifting techniques... Just keep the throtle steady when manualy shifting the auto, giving it more or less gas wont improve anything.
Sorry Ive been a post ***** the past couple days yall... Just bored.

yea the tiptronic isnt a manual but it can feel like one. To do so, let the car rev to mayb 4000rpm, let off so that it sort of lurches forward, shift, then get back on it so the car lurches back again. I dont recommend doing this all the time... but it is fun once in a while wen u want that manual feel. As for downshifting with tiptronic... make sure the rpms r low! Otherwise the car jerks a ton. Also, shifting down early will get u a first class ticket to needing timing belt replacement sooner than normal.

its an automatic...dont over think it buddy. And yea you can make the tiptronic feel like a manual, but once you drive a real manual there is no substitute.
