Hi Soley4pres! Welcome to the forum!!

Red rectangle HUD...hmm, that one is gonna be tough to diagnose. All I can think of is that you are talking about your climate control unit. Do you have a picture you could upload?

btw...(lol) your sig is disturbingly curious.

"Tip Black Wraped With Creme Leather...looking to perform" ...do you speak to your mother this way!?

but then again..it could just be my imagination [8D]

Yep the information display (not HUD, which would be on the windshield) has to be replaced. The dealer is going to make you buy a refurbished one or a new one. How much was your bill marcus?

Be forcefull about it. dealerships hate it when a customer demands things, it makes them feel pressured to do what you ask. just remember hold your ground and dont back down. threten to go to a different audi dealership

I would. I had the car two days when it went down and they didn't want to do it. The extended warranty covered it but I wasn't about to pay the deductible. Dealerships live on word of mouth advertising. Use that angle and threaten to call Audi North America and file a complaint. That will affect their dealer rating and they don't want to damage that!

If you get one from ebay, keep in mind your mileage is stored in the instrument cluster. Therefor the new one will not show your actually mileage, and could be seen as trying to "roll back your mileage".

tru didnt think about that...mileage would be different...so I doubt that it would be covered by the dealer b/c I have 61000 and warrenty only covers up to 50000 right?

thanks guys again
