Hey guys, today the air temp is 95 and I ran to the store and back and when I got back I popped the hood and I noticed the cast piece between the exhaust manifold and the turbo was glowing orange wich quickly went away after a minute but, I am wondering if this would be normal because of the air temp being so hot?

 

its normal any time man, turbos get **** HOT

ahh yes another reason WHY YOU NEED A TURBO TIMER OR LET THE CAR COOL DOWN

 

yeah my father was telling me how red his would glow in his 1.8t A6 in greece and i never really believed him till i raced some accord for a few miles then back to the house and i figured i would check it out, it was illuminating the entire engine bay! (at night of course)
i gave it about five minutes
but like everyone says, its normal just let it cool down and dont drive ithard the last few minutes

 

haha... I love the glow at night. I always rush my wife outside and begg her to look at it. She thinks Im some kind of geek for some reason....

 

would that glow even happen with a completely stock 2002 a4? i just got this a4 and don't know much about it... still learning

 

yea if you run it hard or long it will
