Default Remote locking

Hello all,

Yep another noob to the forum!

Hopefully someone can help me with an irritating problem I have with my remote central locking.
I would imagine it's a common thing, but my 'A4 1.8 T Sport 1999' locking system works fine appart from the fact that u have to be right next to the thing b4 it works. I know that the pump for the locking system is in the boot on the right, but there is no obvious antenna to pick up the signal.
Can someone advise me how to increase the pick up signal?

thx,

Jay/useD

I tried that relocation mod on my sedan and it did nothing for me.
There's not much you can do except put the remote to your chin when you press the button (seriously)

yeah it uses your body as an atenna. I use this and uit works all the time. I dont have a range issue for the most part, in fact I dont grab my keys til Im about 10-20 feet away. But yesterday I accidently pressed the panic button in my office and the alarm went off, and my office is like 40ft away easily.

I've just found out the in my car the locking antenna is within the front doors at the top, so may have a look see if there's owt I can do. Is there a problem or any tricks with taking the door panels off?
