Default Removing Factory Cellphone Antenna - any tips?

My '97 A4 has the factory-installed cellphone kit, which I obviously don't use; so before I go prying the antenna off my rear window, has anyone done this before? If so, can you offer any tips? To look at it, I'm guessing a little (careful)elbow grease behind a flat screwdriver, followed by a healthy dose of Goo-Gone ought to do it. Thanks in advance...

Why would you wanna take it off, you don't wanna scrape into the rear window with a screwdriver or anything like that cause you can strip the rear window heater lines off the glass. Then you got no rear window defroster.

Well, since I don't need it I'd rather get it off there so my roof line is more streamlined. I just think it looks goofy. Is there perhaps something better than a screwdriver that you could suggest? And aren't the heater lines on the inside? The inside element of the antenna is not an issue; the adhesive on that has already degraded enough that it fell off on its own, so I'll just cut the wire where it comes out of the head liner and toss it, and then clean off the remaining adhesive.

I can't see there being a problem with prying it off with a screwdriver. to do a nice job you might try using a fresh, brand new razor blade. that'll take most of the adhesive off by itself, and the goo gone will finish it off.
