Default Removing trim around radio 1997 A4

How do you remove the trim around the radio and CC control without breaking it?

Remove the two bolts behind the head unit....get the code for it before removing it.

I've tried top just pop it off. But, it seems like it's going to break. There's a few places that don't seem to pop off. Also, I've never had the faceplate off of my radio.

First you have to use two very narrow flat head and insert it into the to small slots on the bottom of your radio, with a little work you the radio will unlock, then you can pull your radio out and get to those screw that (bhj0887) is talking about. my 97 has those screws and i had a heck of a time getting to them, but once i did, i felt like a dumb ***. I also agree with (bhj0887) that you should find your code (normaly in your manuals) before you unplug it or you wont get it to work again. Even though mine didnt lock up on me you better be safe.

I have no idea how to get the stock radio out, that pic is with an aftermarker HU. Mine came with a Pioneer, and I replaced it with a different Pioneer.

And now I'm pretty sure the >99's have the bolts, maybe its >98, but I know 96 and 97 has them for sure.
