Replacing O2 Sensors Univeral or OEM?
I am replacing the original 2 precat O2 sensors on my 2000 2.8Q with 135k. I am doing this to hopefully smooth engine idle (motor mounts were replaced) and increase mpg. I am leaning to the bosch universal to save some $$ over OEM. Has anyone had any problems with this or should I use a differnt O2 sensor. I don't want to use the really cheap 30$ ones for obvious reasons. Thanks for your help.
the only difference is the high cost one has a clip on the end so you dont have to connect the lines. Get the cheaper one, its the same sensor and even comes with supplies to connect the wires.
Buy OEM. The ECU is sensitive to the voltage readings off the O2 sensor. A bad connection or bad solder job and you will be getting bad O2 readings. Easier to just buy OEM and avoid the connection problem.

you would have to really screw up a solder job for it not to work. plus its a simple job.

I am going to get the bosch universal no soldering required just a pair of wire strippers.
