Replacing wipers on A4
Bought new wipers for my B6 A4 yesterday... tried to put them on at night and failed. What the heck, it even sounds dumb!
I was trying to do that at night time and couldn't see very well but it seemed like the new wipers (ANCO, I think) weren't really the same as the original wipers that were on the car (in the area where they are supposed to fit and lock... seemed like the new were wider), and for that reason couldn't fit. I chose the ANCO's because they were in the store catalog (and yes, I got the correct length)
Could that really be or am I just screwed up? :-)

Tried it. Didn't work.
Went to Autozone. Bought two of their wipers. Asked an Autozone guy to help. Still we couldn't get them on! Then I tried refills. They seem to be exactly the same in shape & form (unlike the wipers) but I couldn't get the old ones out. Nor could the Autozone guy.
I said "screw this" and went to the dealer. Well, what do you know, their service department was closed on Saturday.
I feel like a complete idiot for having to go to a dealer to change wiper blades :-)

I've changed my wipers several times on my Eclipse and on my Mustang (my previous cars) but this is ridiculous! And embarrassing too
i changed mine in the dark.......
ok that was sort of mean to throw in your face, but if you knew my skill level at these types of things, you'd be impressed..... so i had to throw it out there
but your's probably didn't come with the right clips or whatever, the ones i used had like 8 different ones and you had to pick the one that worked with your car....
but i dunno what i'm really talking about, so who knows

I put Bosch replacements on my car. Yes they are slightly different. But they will go on.
You looked up the right part# in the book right (at the store)?
to be honest, it took me about an hour to figure out how they went on.
