Resonator Delete

I don't care who I'm driving in my car... I would never swap exhaust components for that reason. It's not worth the time and effort.
At most I would adjust the volume of my stereo/cd to their liking or approval, but I wouldn't even let them change my radio station.

all in all, do it. but DONT cut your resonator out. i went into a shop and got a piece of pipe bent to fit in so i can replace it. when i am going to be driving someone that is old or more "mellow", or going on a long drive, i put my resonator in so that my ears actually work when i get wherever im going

i have a 03 a4 1.8. I had the big box mufflers in the back removed and replaced with pipes and left stock tips on, and replaced the res's with 24" magnaflow. the car is still very quiet. At 80mph the road noise covers the exhaust noise, but 3500+rpms in 1st -3rd gear it sounds real nice. has a nice idle sound too, but i cant hear it with the windows up. thats my experience. and FYI i dont like any kind of loud exhaust or rice sounding crap, just smooth clean sound that doesnt wake up the people in my apt complex.
when i got my 96 2.8 (first audi) the resonator was already taken outbut it still had stock exhaust. IT SOUNDED TERRIBLE!!!! and this is on a car with more horsepower than a 1.8 and a 6 cylinder... but no exhaust driven turbo, so im not sure if it would sound better/worse on a 1.8 with stock exhaust but i know on my 12v with stock exhaust it sounded horrible, i had it changed within the first week of owning the car.
