Well I've finally come to the conclusion that my exhaust is too loud. I was tihnking of getting a flowmaster muffler to put where the stock resonator used to be. Anyone have any suggestions on other mufflers or resonators to go there?

 

I went with a flowtech Purple Hornie glasspack. For about $35 I'm not expecting a huge hush, but it should quiet it down a bit. It's (fabulous) purple, but I've heard clips and it doesn't sound bad.

Should be installed next week. The exhaust shop said it'll be really inexpensive to put in a glasspack to see if I like the sound. My main idea was to put a muffler where the resonator used to be, but that would mean redesigning the piping.

Since it's straight back 2.25 piping now, putting in another muffler (where the stock resonator used to be) would requite rewelding and measuring the piping, which would be more expensive than trying out a glasspack in line with the current piping.

 

glasspacks are like a straight pipe and its not bulky or anything.. Should make a gooddifference.

 

I like glass packs especially when they are new. I had them on my olds and you could see small flames when i reved it.

 

Now I'm wondering where i should put it in order to reduce sound more. Towards or away from the y?

 

The closer to the end of the exhaust the louder it will be.

 

Id say right after the Y if it fits right... Closest to thecenter of the caras possible cuz you will be adding some weight with it.
