Default Results of Stock Diverter Valve Install

Having contemplated getting the ECU Chipped, I realized that I also had to replace the DV withthe stock 710N (normally for the TT 225)orsomething that could handle a higher boost. I decided to do it in steps as I can't afford to chip the carjust yet so Ipurchased the 710N and installed it. Here are the differences I noticed.
[ul][*]Better power[*]Smoother accelleration[*]Less turbo lag[*]More power "under your foot"[/ul]

Now my car is 5 years old (02, 1.8TQM) so it could very well be that a simple DV replacement gave the car the power that it had lost over the years. Either way, I just wanted to post this to let you all know that you don't necessarily have to wait to chip your car to get the DV. If your car is as old as mine and has never had the DV replaced, buy it, install it and you will be glad you did.

P.S. HOLY $HIT was it ever hard to get those lame A$$ clamps of the hoses. This will be the hardest part of the replacement. Other than that, the rest of the installation went on without too much trouble.

Hope this helps someone.

Cheers

Woohoo.

Yes it's normal. That oil goes to the turbo too. That's why, I have a oil catch can.

Thanks man, I was wondering.... Damm german cars, always with the oil recirculating back into the breather system. Had that issue with my old 86 GTI but I never had that with the 02' Altima... I know they're totally different cars but still weird........[:-]

I also recently did my DV (along with a t-belt) and I noticed it smoothed out a little in 2nd and 3rd gear. It use to stutter a little under hard acceleration, but now it only does that when it's cold. Something else I noticed since I completed the t-belt is that I'm getting about 3mpg better milage. I think it could be either from the new DV or the fact that it runs a little warmer with the new thermostat. I thought that was a pretty major improvement for those two simple (and cheap)parts.

Yeah with these cars it's a noticeable inprovement for sure.I find Quattros to be a bit tough on gas. They suck it up fast and want only the best lol... Kind of like a gold digger [:'(]

You need to head over to TappAuto and get that beast chipped, more power and better gas mileage. After you do that your going to think you just got a whole new car!

Tell them Michael sent you :P
