Default REVO/APR/GIAC specificly for Automatic B6 A4s

Hello fellow AudiForum members,

I'll start by saying, I have used the search engine on here a lot and have done as much research as I could do before this step. And still I need your help. This topic/thread is probably the most repeated so I will try to make this one asfresh as I can and specific which will make things easier. For those who are highly engaged on here, knowledgable, and respected, please bear with me. If anyone would rather complain about this thread than help me please keep your comments to yourself as I am not being rude to you and I did my part in searching first.

My Audi machanic personaly recommends REVO chip over APR or GIAC because he claims it works better with your OEM safety mechanisms in your Audi. DOES ANY ONE DISAGREE?

I have an 03 A4 (B6)1.8T Quattro(Automatic-Tiptronic NOT a 5-speed manual) and I have a stock KO3 turbo which I will not replace. I want to keep everything stock. I just want to flash my ECU.

Sounds like all 3 chips (REVO/APR/GIAC)are safe and cause no problems for the B6so which chip do you think will give me the best launch off the line? That's the most important to me.Many threads claim the GIAC is the most aggressive off the line and APR is smoother but pulls good. I want to feel and see a difference from my stock 170 horses.

Thanks for your help everyone. You're help is GREATLY appreciated!!!!!!!!!

Pretty bad when people have to write a deffensive 5 line long opening paragraph to try tokeep from getting flamed for asking a "common question"

Revo is good for B6's Tip or manual - doesnt matter
Although, consider APR Stage 1+ (Bigger injectors used with the chip) I dont know if Revo has a big injector file for the k03, but if not, Id go with APR.

All chips are designed to work within the limitations of the engine etc. to keep it safe.

When you say you "...just want to flash your ecu"...which I would say you'd definately be happy with revo or apr (your call), but you will also need a relacement diverter valve...710N will be the cheapest replacement (35$)...

good luck!

onepoint8teethanks for your help. Although it wasn't very nessasary to write those first few lines. But ok, i'll let it go. I know you like to be sarcastic. And I wasn't trying to be defensive in my opening statement. I was only trying to show some respect (to people like yourself) because this is a commonly repeated thread, i know. So I appologize if I have upset you at all. It's just most threads about this always discuss this but for manual transmissions and K04 turbos which doesn't apply to me. At least I thought it wouldn't. In anycase, thanks for your help.

Thanks, qUaTtRoA4. I am aware I need to change the DV. However, do you think a 710N DV will be enough? Some say I should get aluminum/metal DV which will never break.

THANKS AGAIN for your help friend!

Thanks for your help, AudiTurbo. Just curious why you recommend the APR for the B6?

yup it was a joke man.. i was just making a general statement.. dont feel so skiddish to post about stuff. no big deal.. besides, you have every right to ignore people who flame.. The best come back to a flame is to ignore it, not try to deffend yourself.. I mean, its just typed out words overthe internet ya know?
