Default At the risk of sounding.....

At the risk of sounding COMPLETELY ignorant, I still have to ask the question because I have no experience with it.

I am having larger tips welded onto my exhaust.
It will probably only change the last 7" or so of the pipe, but I'm wondering if this is going to change the exhaust note at all.
My guess is no, but I just want to check beforehand.

Anyone have experience with this or notice a difference in the sound?

I'm going with one of these tips more than likely:

Vibrant 1303 Tip (3.5")
or
Vibrant 1304 Tip (4")

Changing the entire exhaust system is not an option for me and frankly, I don't want to do it anyways.
I just want a sportier look at the backend of the car, and after talking to the maintainence guy at my local Audi dealership, I was told that the tips would do nothing to affect my warranty or service.

Any advice or info to offer here?
Thanks.

1. Not my plate. If you check the post, I mentioned that it someone else's ride. (MC Hammered)

2. It's fine if it doesn't change the exhaust note. Was just curious as to what to expect.

3. They'll be on by the time the next SoCal GTG comes around.
