what could it be.. when i first start up my a4 after it has been sitting for hours or over night, there is a rotational sound almost like a whistle... and then after a few moments it dispates... ne ideas?

 

um is the sound coming fromdirectaly above the engine? like near the dipstick? because after i installed my n75 i noticed a sound coming from that area, but it just went a way after a min. i dont think it is bad.yea....

 

i listened for it again tonight, its more like a click sound... i wounder if something is not getting oil like it should...

 

bump* sound goes away after a few mins, im worried something may not be getting oil like it should...

 

I've heard that a tick sound from the engine can be a sign that the Timing belt is on its way out. bad tesioner, roller somthing like that

 

the sound is like a tapping or ticking.. directly linked with the rpm of the engine (i rev engine sound frequency increase) god i wish someone would reply... just got the car so any strange sounds are going to freak me out untill i know whats up

 

i was told the timing blet was just changed... why does the sound go away after a few mins?
