Default ROYAL PURPLE

OKay so I bought Mobil 1 5w-30 synth. but I'm thinking I might return the box and get Royal Purple, Since from reading the threads that its amazing in every way. But my main question is, I also hear that theres royal Purple you can get for transmission fluid. Basically, the main point of getting ROYAL PURPLE oil and tranny fluid is HP increase?
what do you guys think?

royal purple is great and i do recommend it, but i doubt that it is that much greater than other synthetics like the one you already bought. you will increase the hp and torque of the car if you were switching from a non synthetic to royal purple but i dont think so if you were going from mobil 1 synth. to RP. i could be wrong tho

okay thanks but what about the tranny fluid of royal purple, having that and the oil, would that make a diff at all? from watching those videos, it gave some cars a range of 5 to 10 HP increase

Royal purple is an OK oil, not sure if it is better than Mobil 1, but it does come in a nifty purple bottle.

Those cars that you saw get a 5-10 hp gain were probably domestics. And they went from non syn to royal purple. You would most likely not see any gains at all, and realistically, you wouldn't actually feel the difference of 5 or 10 hp in your car anyways.

I use Royal Purple (41). It is expensive tho ($12 a quart).

Last time I got normal royal purple (10w40). It is about the same price as Mobil 1 ($7 a quart)

One thing, Royal 41 do keep the oil cooler than Normal Royal Purple.

ya thats the thing, the owner before me got the oil change at Jiffy Lube, cuz theres a sticker on the front window. and im sure those guys used non-syn. Therefore, since i am about to get an oil change, I bought mobil 1 syn 5w 30, but im thinking i should return it and get Royal Purple. which one? and oh yeah what numbers are good for me? i live in cali and it never gets to cold or too hot here.

i'd say just keep what u got and dont bother with the racing oil unless your that adament about perfection in your audi. u wont see hp increases between synthetics but you might see it from non-synthetic to synthetic. and even then its only slight.
