I use Mobol 1, and change it every 10K mi. I have 90K mi. on my car with no noticeable engine wear. Make sure the oil you use meets ACEA A3 or A5.

i run the race 40 bc it is specifically designed for turbo and supercharged engines. as soon as i switch i noticed a 5lb of boost increase and alot quicker spool time. i noticed this big of a diff bc i was runing conventional 5w30 so that the oil would seat the new seals in my new turbo. some people may say diff that u dont need to do this but a garret dealer here told me that if u put in syn oil u can have a chance of causing a oil leak between the new gaskets in the turbo. to me not worth it. just my .02 from personal experience. also this oil that i use is 10 bux a qt. if u buy the reg 10w30 5w30 etc in royal purple it cost the same as mobile 1

Good quality oil. Comes in a pretty bottle. Good marketing hype.

Not worth the extra money and wont give extra HP or increase boost.

Yeah, making it purple was a stroke of genius... I had store credit at a local performance shop -- a shop that has nothing I want... So, I was using it to buy oil. Royal Purple was the only brand they sold... So, I went through a couple cases of it. It seems to be fine... but, they dont have the audi recommended 5w40... so I was using 5w30. Now I am switching to castrol syntec 5w40, which is the #1 audi recommended oil. Whether that means it's the best for our cars is another story... but whatever. I change it every 3K miles, which is often enough for any full synthetic oil.

Back on royal purple though... like dave said above, don't expect to notice more power... but, you can rest assured knowing you are using a good oil. ... Course, you can say the same thing when using Mobil. Corvette's, and CTS-V's and the like require mobil 1, or the warranty is void.

I dunno man those gains can be gotten by bumping up to 100+ octane fuel.

also did you see the color of those fluids on that comaro... Sheesh it looked like they had not been changed in a year.

Yeah, so if you go from horrible year old regular oil, to ANY synthetic, you'd likely free up power.

It was said exactly right above... in that there is a lot of hype regarding oil purple... doesnt mean it's a bad oil, just, not the miracle oil we've all been waiting for.
