there are rubber gaskets all along the firewall. poke a hole on one, and run it through. if you want, go to www.goapr.com. go to audi, and find the installation instructions for their boost guage. it will show you how to run a hsoe through the firewall and into the drivers side. it should be the same for a wire. good luck

I will be using the gromit that is in the middle of the firewall. Its just to the left of the ecu.

I'm not sure about the 98, but in my B6 i just went right up through the ECU box, it's almost wide open the whole way up.

are there wires already running through it, or is it just a rubber plug that you can cut a hole in? i've been thinking about routing it in through where the clutch cable comes through, would that work? or maybe i'll just run the darn thing up under the car haha

i dont know about the clutch cable you might end-up with some binding issues. all the gromits i have dont have wires in them already. Take a pic of the firewall so we can see what's going on there.

I did this with my b5 2.8 and although I don't remember exactly how, I remember that the hood release cable runs a very similar route which I may have used. Check it out.

well i am pretty sure right under or to the passenger side of the ecu box there is a rubber piece you can poke through and get a wire through it, its pretty simple just look around for it
