Rusted brake rotors

RE: Rusted brake rotors
Rust on the perephery is normal. A light coat of rust where the pads grab can be seen if you haven't driven the car for a day or so. If there is rust in this area that didn't come off with driving and applying the brakes, they either the pads are completely shot, or the caliper is frozen.

RE: Rusted brake rotors
if the rust gets real bad or if you develop groves in your rotors due to crappy pads go to you nearest auto parts store and have them cut your rotors you will save lots of doh! like 10$ per rotor to get them cut! but if you just have surface rust drive man they will be all shinny soon!
