Yeah, sad to say but this forum seems to be going down the sh1tter. I haven't been here all that long but I remember when I was a total noob and I posted in the A4 forum, a bunch of idiots gave me an attitude for no apparent reason. That's why I hang out in the Off Topic area, and just peruse the A4 forum to gather great information from those educated members that provide awesome info and assistance, and to laugh at some of the ignorance on display, like within the aforementioned srt4/STi thread.

Anyhoo to get on topic...

350Z
PRO - great engine, sounds amazing stock, looks good, heritage, sound build quality, decent handling
CON - tire feathering issue!!! too heavy and feels heavier than it is, under-performing imho, everyone has one?

RX8
PRO - One of the best handling, best balanced cars that I have driven, drivetrain works in total sync, looks awesome, true 4 seater, cool interior design, shifter/clutch combo close to the S2000, 9500 RPMs!!!!, sound of the rotary is amazingly unique, high quality interior materials and decent textures. You can get them for $8000 msrp brand new.
CON - underpowered, lack of TQ, under-performing, sucks gas, sucks oil, easy for inexperienced drivers to flood the engine.

If I had to choose I go with the RX8. Just more fun overall.

EDIT: And to keep it A4 relative. You can't really compare them fairly as 2 are technically sports cars and one is a sports sedan.

 

I dont even think the a4 is technically a "sports" sedan... lol

that alone is enough to make me not buy it ... not including the uggo looks (my opinion)

the Nissan VQ motor is a great motor and can handle i think around 400WHP.

350z is slow in stock form... but you have to REALLY hammer it to take its potenial due to nissans DBW technique

 

Good point. I agree. The power is very underwhelming in the Z due to a number of factors.

 

nothing a good tune wont fix.... you can get some decent times in the Z w/ NA... but TT is so much more fun

 

rx8 is a lame attempt to re-create something it'll never be. the z can be made pretty fast, but if u leave it stock, why not get the longer wheelbase g35. both have a bunch of potential, i just prefer the infinity, except for its roof liner, i think kia has a better one.

 

Its about personal taste and sytel. People prefer the looks of the z rather the the g35 coupe.
