s4 or fixed up a4 for the price difference?
okay.. i want a quattro system now.. now i have been shoppin and prices for s4 is like around 18k or 12k for a4. 2001 models.. if i put 6k into the a4 is it a better vehicle? or just pay 18 for the s4 and leave it stock?
s4- it will be faster if you add performance parts. you will get more hp stornger engine but expensive... it is better then an a4 but expensive parts and insurance for sure
a4- cheaper parts with the 6k you deff. can make it faster then a stock s4 your insurance will be cheaper but you wont get the same attention as a s4. i own a a4 but i would love to have s4 because it just seems better in everway(stock) but its too expensive for me espcially at my age.

S4 all the way. If you buy a 1.8t and mod it , it wont be as reliable. If you buy a 2.8 and mod it with a pes charger it will be reliable but not much faster than an s4. So its better to buy the best the first time around. I wish I had.
thou being a noob of audis, and thou i'm have no idea. But i'm pretty sure high performance vehicles had redesigned parts, holding up its regidity and maybe even had parts with different materials and so on. Hence modding a 1.8T to be faster than a S4 in straight lines, doesn't really mean it can do the same on a curve. I vote for S4.
p.s. no one would get a 320 modded Mitsubishi Lancer over a 280hp Lancer Evolution i guess!?!?

I would go for the S4, its just a better package for out of the box performance. The A4 is almost as heavy with 110hp less... the car isnt fun until you mod a bit.
With the S4, just a chip will bring you up to the 300hp mark.
