I was thinking of getting some 2.8 or S4 seating. How did he make the power seats work if yours were manual?

Well, it was suprisingly simple... we knew the power wasnt going to be an issue, because that is all they need... power. Easy as pie, just run a couple wires down to them... power, ground. Done.

When you take your manual seats out, there is a little thing, sticking up in the middle of the floor. This thing has to be removed... Grind it off, or chisel it... do anything, just get it gone. (note: this can never have non-powered seats again).

After that... the carpet is already cut for the new seats... the patches are just glued in sorta. You just do a little light cutting around the rectangle that is already there, and pull the piece off. Then, tap the holes (which are already there) and fit some big bolts into them. The tracks that run along the sides of the seats, are the same -- so you remove the old seats from the tracks, and the new seats go into them. I was suprised as to how easy it was (though I didn't do it!) ... seeing it done though, I know I could have done it myself, it just would have taken me twice as long, because I'd have been second guessing myself at every step. I mean, chiseling off that piece is sort of daunting... what if they didnt work!? THen I'd have been SOL.

I'll probably go looking for some manual 2.8 seats then. I hate wiring. It's usually not that difficult, but I just find it a complete pita.
