Default Satellite Radio

I just purchased an A4 with the Audi Symphony AM/FM radio in-dash 6-disk CD player & "satellite radio prewiring". The dealer only had Sirious and I want XM for a number of reasons. One radio store told me that I can put in Sirius, as that is how the radio is programmed. Does anyone know how I can add XM Radio without the separate display; meaning everythig would be done including the display through the existing installed radio?

If your car really is prewired all you need is the xm reciever. I know my dealer still carries them for like 90 bucks. Simple plug and play. If your dealer refuses to order one for you call around, im sure you could find a dealer willing to ship you one.

Depends on what you listen too. Theres really no better or worse. Only one gets stern. Nascar isnt on both. For general music they are about the same, but if you have specialty interests one will be better than the other.

Don't know about Sirius, but XM has me pissed since they're running commercials now. Avoiding pointless annoying blabbering is why I got satellite in the first place

I spoke to someone at Tweeter, and they said that because the radio was wired for Serious, the antenna cable would not work. Have you done an install?

I ordered the part from a dealer in NJ- Don Rosen Imports. It was 105 with shipping to Denver. They will include the instructions. It is literally plug and play in the trunk. You openthe slot where the CD changer would be, pull the wire leads out, and then plug in the wires that color match to the box. There is a BUS move in the passenger side under some trim. I only needed a flat head screw driver. It took a total of 20 minutes. The instructions have a promo code that gives you 3 free months- don't know if that is going to work but XM accepted it. It all works just dandy- display on the stereo, great reception. I have a 07 A4 with standard stereo- not Bose no Nav.

Is there an XM adaptor to hook up the XM receiver in 03 Audi's without the user of an external display? That you make me a happy camper [sm=bounceybounce.gif]
