Ive seen the same thing for a S4 for 8,000, and it was in CO but she lived in Europe. The car was her dads and he just died. Blah blah, it was locater at the "autotrader wharehouse," I ran scared.

Maybe the scam works something like this: There will be a sale of the car but it is a stolen car that is already in the US. The papers the car comes with are fake... bla bla bla, as soon as you get the car it will be stolen again form you and used in another scam.... because you don't return the car, Square Trade takes your money and gives it to the seller. Square Trade is ignorant to the scam so they do nothing. Seller makes a $1000 or more for hardly any work.

Maybe?

There are just TOO MANY ways this person could scam you, so I'm not going to guess which. But, yes I have recieved this similar scam looking for a beemer 3-series. It would be tough to do a reverse scam. My advice is stay the HELL away!

Saw it twice when I was shopping for mercs. Found a 2004 C32 with almost no miles for 14000 dollars. Same foreign country fair trade BS.

I never followed up on it, cuz it smelled way too much like BS.

I've gotten so many of those emails on my search for a car it wasn't funny. Ridiculous, and the funny thing is that these people can get away with it. It's considered a "civil affair" and therefore it's not likely to get the Police involved. I got ripped off with some laptops a few years back and it was going to cost at minimum of $10k to prosecute. And then, I would still have to locate the person who ripped me off. They get their money and off they walk.

Stupid, makes me angry. Some people actually WORK for a living, and then these F'ers come along and just send out tons of emails and fake ads and I'm sure they get lucky too.

Grr...
