Default Schroth Rallye 4 racing harnesses

I just removed 2 blue Schroth Rallye 4 racing harnesses (w/ black shoulder pads) from our A4 that we picked up a couple of weeks ago. The previous owner had them installed, and had used them in a few Audi driving schools. However, considering that we bought this car for my wife to drive to work, and also that it's an automatic, i just can't justify keeping them in (although the thought of her pulling up to the school where she teaches, braced in racing harnesses, is pretty funny).

Anyway, the harnesses are in very good shape, and I wanted to see if anyone around here would be interested in buying them. I'm willing to part with them for $100 for both, or best offer. pm me if you're interested. I can also take pictures if you're serious about buying them.

Default RE: Schroth Rallye 4 racing harnesses

a few people have asked how these harnesses attach. there are four anchor points for each harness: two in the front and two in the rear. each anchor point anchors where the regular seatbelt anchors. to get to the rear anchor points, you just have to lift up the rear seat and unscrew the bolts holding down the regular seat belts. for the front, it's a little more complicated. for the outside (toward to door) anchor point, you have to remove the base trim from the back to get to the bolt. for the inside anchor point, you have to remove the seat, which actually isn't all that difficult, just a little more involved. i can give detailed installation instructions to whoever ends up with them.

the harnesses can be installed in addition to normal seatbelts (that's how the car was when we got it), so no worries about them being your only seatbelt option. and since they anchor into the actual seatbelt bolts (as opposed to harnesses that latch into your existing female seatbelt connections), they're going to provide you with maximum stability and bracing. a few days after we got the car, i thought i'd try out the harnesses for grins. i was pretty amazed at how snug i felt in them. i didn't move at all when i took corners. if i intended on driving this car more aggresively, i wouldn't have taken them out.
