taking off the shifter plate is easy, just take off your shifter, and pull up on the back of the plate, then slide backwards

Mine's all fucked up too. I thought about doing it but then again sometimes u just gotta let the scratch go. If that fix didnt work I would go crazy staring at my even more fucked up shift plate

take it off and get it powder coated. you can choose any color you want and it is resitant to scratches. would not cost more than like 40 bucks

I have wondered the same thing.. I even looked at doing brushed with a brushed metal kit... came with several wire brushes of different hardness.. Let us know how it turns out.. I would love to do something with mine.
