Secondary air pump not running: problem solved
I have a B6 A4 with 193k on it, and I've had it since about 44k so I've run into just about every issue these cars have. I try my best to fix everything on my own since these dealerships and local shops like to charge obscene amounts of money for simple problems.
Any how, to make this fast i was getting the popular:
P0411 - 002 - Incorrect Flow Detected
Based on some threads here and some videos on Youtube I went through the steps of narrowing down the problem. Relays, fuse, solenoid, cracked hose check, power and ground all good but no pump running. Well last time this happened (about 5 years ago) the pump was filled with water and seized, but this time it was dry. Well, i went the cheap route and got a non-OEM air pump since a replacement OEM pump was like $600 bucks.
I removed the pump and ordered a new one any how, but decided since i was going to throw out the old one i would open it up and see what was up.
Here's what was up:

So the wire was just disconnected, hanging there. It also looked like there was some build up on the contact that was disconnected but not too bad. I decided to try and fix it any how.
Cleaned up the contacts, threw some new wires in there and used gasket sealant on the cover and wire entry points. Maybe a bit messy, but after a continuity test i plugged it in and turned it on from the VCDS and it came right back to life!
I tested the vacuum on the hoses to see if it held, seemed OK. Fingers crossed the combi valve is OK and the p0411 goes away so i can get an inspection sticker
