selling my a4
I have a 1997 AUDI A4 QUATTRO, 125K miles, 2.8L 5-speed, sport package, leather, sunroof, 6CD...
I am trying to sell it and was wondering how much I should try to get for it. I am going to be totally upfront with anyone who looks to buy and tell them all of the problems.
I have recently replaced(last 6 months):
p/s hose, pump, & resevoir
brakes & rotors
rack and pinion
2 new tires on front
main transmission seal
problems with the car:
it has a 3-inch crease in the hood (someone backed into a month ago while it was parked). i can get this fixed for them for ~$300 or so.
it will need the torsen differential replaced at 'some point.' i was getting ready to sell it when the transmission seal went. the mechanic replaced the seal and told me he could replace the differential(for about $1200) or have the needed parts fabricated. I had the part fabricated. He told me the transmission is fine, but the diffferential will have to be replaced. He said the fab parts could last 1 month, a year or 2 years... you can't really tell.
I am living in the 92354 zipcode. Is $5,000 a good price to ask for this car?
