hahah very funny. This is actually very sad for me. No kidding either. This was my first car ever, and I loved the thing. Luckily this car served as a foothold to my audi/vw love. I think I am going to be very very happy with the gti. 6 speed tiptronic, 18 wheels, HID, Navigation, 6 disc, mp3, speed sensitive wipers, fogs, tint, sport suspension, heated seats, leather sport seats, 10 speaker soundsytem, (awesome 3 spoke flat bottom wheel), and o yeah a 2.0 Turbo, its a lot of car for a nice price. The only thing that I really am not happy about is the fwd Im so used to quattro and I adore it. The GTI has virtually no torque steer which is a big plus, but im sure once I have about 290torque those wheels will be spinnin'...im not excited about that. All in all its gonna be fun, but right now, Im more sad about getting rid of the Audi, than I am excited for the new car.

A3 base is right about gti loaded. I love the audi name, I love the quattro, but their are certain things I need, and certain things I need I can only get all of them (for my price) with a gti.

My warranty ran out and the company offered me an extended warranty up to 160k-180k miles. Kinda surprised me. I decided against it, hoping all the known bugs are worked out already. I haven't driven those rides, but overall bang for buck I prefer my A4 over most new cars. And the best is yet to come.

acutally, i would go for the a3, for one is cuz if u get the quattro(unlike a fwd gti), then there's no live axel like in the GTI, handling will be better and u can get a 5spd manual (i believe unless they changed). plus the audi name. think price i spretty much the same. but if u like the gti, it's still a great car. gti mostly for the looks and seats. more of a "boy racer" look. a3 is more of a classy proffesional exp look next to a gti.

I am happy for you that you are getting a newer car. but I am sad that you are not gettin manual transmission, it means you cannot really enjoy the power you'll have with your gti.

Not so fast. VW new dsg transmission claims its faster than human shifting. It has 2 clutches. One for gears 1,3,5 and the other for 2,4,6 . They are both always spinning. The car shifts very very very fast. Max Torque is at 1800 rpm. Its a good tranny

Yeah, well, unless you're bracket racing, it's more fun to shift yourself. Actually, it's always more fun to shift yourself.

Also it strikes me as weird that you're selling the somewhat-unreliable A4 for a VW which, even with the warranty, has a less-than-stellar rating for reliability. If you're gonna get rid of it out of warranty that obviously doesn't matter.
