Default Serious Problem !

I attempted to go to lunch in my 02 A4 and something happened. I have the CVT Tiptronic and when I put it in Drive it automatically goes to manual 6 speed mode but it doesn't shift. It is locked in 1st gear. What could be the problem? Please help...............

CVT is the type of Tranny - It is similar to a snowmobile system when in drive. Still runs the same in Tip mode as an Audi without CVT.

I tried disconnecting the Battery and giving it a "reboot" This worked for about 2 min and then it switched back to Tip mode. It switches to the drive speed, say 3rd, then once I slow down it automatically shifts it into 1st. Once it is there that is where it stays. I can't shift with the **** nor the steering wheel controls. It is not mechanically stuck, because the controls retain full range of motion, the A4 is just ignoring them. To top it off, I am now 80 miles passed my warranty. My pocket can't take a hit from the dealer right now, so if anyone can think of something please let me know.

Try to get it somewhere to get your ecu/tcu scanned for fault codes. Thats the first step. Lots of problems with these CVT tranny's.
