Sounds like it has been taken care of.. I would want to see some receipts though. And $8k is a little high for the year and mileage, but it does have the chip ($500+) and the timing belt and control arms which are very important. Pictures would help.

What's the oil change history (OCI and type)? Has the larger VW 068-115-561B filter been used?

I'm trying to work out where the "$7500" investment went. Unless it went almost exclusively on maintenance (which is very much possible) I don't see anything that would add up to 7500 bucks.

One other thing to think about, if he had $7500 to drop on the A4 within 4 months of buying it but needs to sell the car now to raise cash to finish his rx7 project. Either they have severe money mangement issues or there is something wrong with the car that they don't want to deal with and are bailing out before the problem gets to the point its noticeable during a test drive.

I'd pass, considering flyinb501 just sold his clean B5 for slightly higher than this guys asking price. Look around, you should be able to pick up a good deal.
