Okay, thanks guys, I think I figured it out.

Assuming there's not a huge problem I notice while test driving it tomorrow, I'm gonna go for it. I've already inspected it thouroughly, and it is backed by a nice mechanics warranty. SO hopefully it will be all good.

LoL, it would probably do me good to be out of a fast car for a while anyway... I don't need any tickets...

ORIGINAL: bhj0887

The 97 is a 12V AFAIK, there are no SC kits for it.

You'd have a hard time matching a moderatly modified 1.8T, hell a chipped 1.8t is probably able to beat the 12V. Damn reliable thoughl

A chipped 1.8t will own both the 12v and 30v wont it?

All else being equal, the chipped 1.8T has been known to be faster in most cases.

I wouldn't use the term "own"; I think "by a comfortable margin," is more appropriate.

Rassumsen (SP?) Used lot on Canyon road... They have a nice selection of used luxo cars, I'm glad I could find one for me...

It's gonna be ready to test drive today at 1:30.

They installed a new clutch/flywheel for free... Very nice of them, obviously they don;t want to send me away with a shady car. They care a lot about their reputation, and that makes me very comfortible buying from them.

That's actual pretty sweet if they care that much! The biggest thing to worry about...being that we live on the west coast...is where the car was before! 85% of the Audi's we get come from the Midwest or East Coast regions...if that's the case...you have to worry about undercarrige rust! My S4 came all the way from Illinios...the really cold weather has a huge effect on these cars! Get it checked!

The car was originally sold at an Audi dealership in either Bend or Salem, and the 2nd owner lived around Portland... I'm 98% sure its a local car. (******* CarFax, I got screwed by them once before, I'm hoping this is'nt one of those "2%" cars...)

No rust, it's STUPID clean for a 97... [:-]

I ended up buying a car that had "minor damage" according to CarFax. Turns out it was hit by a semi truck that KILLED THE PASSENGER, and the dude had his buddy with a shady body shop repair the car to **** standards to avoid insurance/title brands.

Frickin ******.
