When in doubt, change your timing belt. 60-70k miles is a good place to change your belt. Don't forget to change your water pump, thermostat, tensioners, idle rollers, and maybe think about getting an aftermarket snub mount. Audi's are known to have timing belt breaking problems. When (and its only a matter of time) it does break, it will cost thousands of dollars. So find an independent mechanic and have him change it out, or go to the dealer if you feel like spending a grand.

Yep... and the right tools, of course. It may take a few hours for an amateur mechanic, but it's "do-able".

I just changed mine because it broke but i have to take the head off too to make sure it's good, ITS A PAIN IN THE A$$!!! But a lot better than paying $500 to a private mechanic i asked to do it.
