If you live where it snows get a Quattro. The timing belt
should be changed before 90K mi. Find an independent
Audi mechanic, it will save you $$$.

You'll be fine, as you indicated you are mechanically inclined.

The audi dealers are rapist, and that is why you hear so many complain, cause they can't do it themselves they are paying a fortune at the dealer, even for a simple oil change they bend you over.

Definitely get the A4 vs. the Lexus. Just look the car over really good b4 u buy. I'd recommend having someone inspect the car before you commit though. If you run into any trouble, there's tons of ppl here who can help you out w/ any issues.

 

Yeah make sure you check for any signs of past accidents or issues, make sure the engine sounds good, car runs good.. even take note at the slightest issues, you never wanna buy a car with a bad past

 

I maek 28 k a year as well... The a4 is more reliable in the b6 or b7 engines...but nothing is sexier than a b5 model. I wanted one... couldnt find any in my area in black.
