Default Should I put used tires on my Quattro?

Well I bought some used wheels and they came with used tires already on them. But the previous owner had them on his front wheel drive A4 while I have a Quattro A4. Now what I'm wondering is, Would I be a complete idiot to use these tires on my car for a few months till I get some money to replace them? They have enough tread left to be used for probly another year or so, but I wouldn't keep them for this long. Give me you input.

I have heard that putting used tires on will screw up your sensors or whatnot relating to your quattro especially if they have diff treads on both ends, killing your gas mileage as well.

Depends. If they are in pretty ok shape with plenty of tread on them, and if they will suit your needs for now, use them. If they are full of plugs and patches, or like, winter tires, or just **** for tires in general, get some new ones. Kumho is a good brand if you want some decent tires that won't break the bank

+1, I love em.
Plus after you get them, your wife/gf can look at them and go "Kum-Ho???.... Youre a retard..."

If they are all the same size they will do no damage. Unless one blows out and you crash and die. [sm=smiley11.gif]

If you know how to drive and don't panic, that's highly unlikely.

I'd never put repaired or used tires on my car. This is one area you don't want to skimp on.

Well, if the tread difference isn't more than a couple 32nds inches off, there aren't any plugs, no patches near the sidewalls, and no dry-rotting, you should be fine.

But do be sure that they're all the same size tire, quattro or not.

Yeah they are all the same size tire, And have no plugs that I can tell. The only reason I was wondering is because the front tires have slightly more wear than the rear. And again I would only be using these tires for a couple months till I get some money for new ones. Just wanna be sure It's not gonna be hard on a Quattro car to use tires from a front trac.
