Default Side Molding

Have any of you removed the body side molding from your B5 and liked it? If so, got pics?

No, but mine is starting to fall off by itself. The plastic is rotted on the back where it attatches to the plastic clips. My drivers side was hanging by a thead the other day, so I aggressively ripped it off and threw it in the back seat. Im thinking of jb welding or liquid nails-ing them.

Is it just sticky tape beneath it? Something Goo Gone and determination could remove?

No there are these little plastic clips there that attach to the molding. Mine is starting to come off on the passenger side door. I am also thinking JB weld or something along those lines.

No there are plastic clips that the molding latches onto. Not sure what holds the clips to the body of the car. Didnt care to look that closely at it I guess. Want me to take a pic?

Nah, it's not worth the effort, but thanks! Whenever you get around to gluing it back on, if you could try and see how the plastic clips are attached to the car, that would be swell.

Are you refering to the molding halfway up the door that is color matched to the car or are you refering to the black rubber on the bottom of the door. The painted molding is held on by 3m double sided tape just use some silicone gasket maker and put it back on. The rubber on the bottom of the door has a metal insert that rots out and doesnt hold tight to the plastic clips. There is a set screw on the inside of the door closest to the hinges. Remove the screw slide the rubber backwords about two to three inches so that you dont break the clips and pull straightoff away from the door. The rubber is $40... the screw and plastic clips do not come with it so unless you want to buy new ones dont force it off billy bad ***

I'm talking about the color-keyed strips that run across the lower halves of the doors...the body side molding, not the door molding.
