Default Simphony I and II

Does anyone know if Simphony I can be simply replaced with Simphony II in 2000 B5 A4 with trip computer?
I wonder if pinout is the same? My CD changer is missing a CD case, so this would solve the problem, and the sound quality is somewhat better with Simphony II.

Any input is highly appreciated !!
Thanks guys,

Milo.

On this same topic, I have my old Simphony II out of my 2006 A4 B7 from when I installed my NAV system and my buddy with a 99.5 Jetta is wondering if it would fit in his car. he would like to take out his tape deck and replace it with my 6 disk simphony. Any idea if this would be a straight swap?
