Default Slight surge around 2500 RPM

Hey folks. I've got an '03 B6 and on the rare occasions that I am accelerating slowly I get a slight surge when the turbo begins to kick in. The transition is not the smooth rush you would normally get. I'm waiting on a 007 and an APR turbo intake tube. DV valve leaking?? Anyone?? Thanks.

If I'm not hard on the gas, especially if the engine is under load, there are maybe two slight lurches as the turbo really gets spooled. Also thought about getting a new n75 valve to smooth the transition and give some more power at the same time.

What mods do you have done?? Chip?? If you had a boost gauge that would help you pinpoint wether or not it is directly related to the turbo, or if you could actually see boost fall off/surging etc. If you are chipped with stock DV, there is a good chance your DV is shot and could cause funky things like you are talking about. I wouldnt try to fix your problem with an aftermarket part like the n75 valve. It shouldnt act this way with the stock valve anyway.

I haven't done any other mods yet. Just bought it. I can't hear any leaks so I'm assuming and hoping that it is just the DV valve. I know it's stock power but my understanding is that time is bad for the stock valve too. I dunno. 007 going in on Monday.

Manual trans and usually in first gear. My gf doesn't feel it, and believe it or not, she knows her cars too. I just want everything to be in great shape before I get the ecu flashed.

hard to diagnose because you say its a slight surge so easily could be down to driver if a surge is prominent then it would record a code

Hate to ask the easy question but, Is it possibly the turbo lag? 2500 rpm is usually where i start gain boost psi, in first gear.
