Smelling anti freeze
 

I can smell it but i dont see any puddles or no smoke coming off engine, smells is most intense after drivign for a while or when really laying into it, comes in to cabin with a sweet smell cant tell if its burning

Check the G-12 reservoir.

I'm getting the same thing with a 97 1.8TQM. My reservoir is right where it should be between max and min. I'm not too worried about it, just curious.

always be worried about coolant leak, jsut becasue the resovior is between min max doesnt mean S**T, its the actual radiator level that matters and it also means that your seals waterpump maybe going, leaking coolant into oil tranny of out of Pump VERY VERY BAD. you must be new to cars, it things leaking out of the engine were normal i wouldnt have this thread. Check the radiator when it cools off and see level, then when its warm look for drops or a nice strong odor and see where it coming from. Or go to stealership

Mine is doing the same thing and I found out that the water pump is leaking. Which sucks because I am pretty sure that means that the t-belt has not been changed so I am doign that this weekend! GRRR...

There are no drops of anything leaking under my car, and I just changed my oil, and there was no milky fluid in it. How did you find out the water pump was leaking? I need to do a t-belt change soon also, I think I'm getting the ultimate kit from ECS tuning, which includes water pump, t-stat, etc.It was changed at 82k, and i just turned over 154! I'm more worried about the timing belt than the coolant smell, especially if it doesn't seem to be leaking and the reservoir is full. Could it also be the PCV valve as I've read in other threads about coolant smell? Detail and pics would be very appreciated, thanks.

I would do your t-belt ASAP! After you replace that see if you still get the smell. I am hoping the smell will go away when I am done with mine.

Like i said in my post wait till it gets to temp and look, i would do the ultimate your right on that part, i think from what ive heard 60k is a good lifespan for hte water pump, yur up to 70ish thousand, when you do pump and timing belt your gonna have to do a flush so check that too see what the deal is, regardless all that need to be done you deff dont want to blow the timing belt 1000's to fix. I cant get pics im at werk passing the time, were dead here.

Look behind the engine, in the space between the firewall and the engine, near the middle. There is a coolant hose there that may leak, coming out of the engine to the heater core and all.
Its closer to the cabin, which may be why you are smelling AF, if its leaking there. Just one more area to inspect for leakage. It may be dripping onto the engine/frame, and a slow leak, so you would not see any puddle, and levels would not go down very fast.
