Drove an sti a while ago. I think it was a late 90's model. The seats were horribly uncomfortable,
the suspension was rock hard and the interior was cheap and sh!tty. But holy ****, this thing was fast!

How about a story of an a4 smoking someone? All these stories of defeat... gets depressing, lol.

lol new sti dude. yea it ain't AS GOOD as a r32(as far as interior quality goes) but still, above average. love the seats int eh evo and sti tho, but hey, when it can out handle, faster and for the same price. i'd take that. plus the sti awd is more rear biased. better yet, EVO. yeaaaaaaaa

only thing vw has over teh evo and sti is interior quality and lux.

The sti's are nice on the inside, the evos' are knid of cheap. I used to valet and had a few regulars that drove them. Do you guy's have the 1.8T or a v6. I have the 3.0 and I dont really think my cars that slow, a r32, STI, evo will smoke almost any car. I only have a handful of mods and I seem to pull preaty hard on people. the only car that any of my friends drive that can beat me is a bmw 540I6 and my buddy has dumpled over 10k in mods to it. That is changing soon though I have ordered the pes supercharger, then we will see

I haven't looked into the R32 much, but I've heard/read good comments. The Audi TT 3.2L is the same platform and I'd take that over an R32 any day. But what kills it for me is the FWD biased haldex AWD. I think the next-gen TT/R32 platform will have a more performance oriented AWD system (RWD biased). A 2.0T DSG is going to be really nice, but I dream of a 996/911 Turbo.

I don't see anything wrong with "racing" a car thats faster than you just to see it take off (cause you know you're going to lose). I'm wondering if thats why a Jeep jumped off the line with me tonight heh. So I had some fun and he got to see a "fast" car.

I remember reading an article in european car about a company in british columbia taking an r32 and twin turbocharging it. They had like a 400, 500, and a 600hp kit. The 600hp kit cost about 25k. The car did 0-60 in 3.2, 1/4 in 11.4 and topped out at 202 mph. Thats pretty damn fast.
