snub mount GOOD
David,
You've written that the APR snub mount produced way too many vibrations with a tiptronic tranny. I've got a 2.8 tip..how about this one: http://www.pure-motorsport.com/produ...42/CA=343/PA=4
Does it put any additional stress on your engine or transmission? Other than the vibrations, any potential problems I should be aware of? Just leery of anything that could screw up the Tip...really don't feel like messing with that

got the snub mount in...it was easier than i expected, the difficult part is getting the new snub on there...it's a bitch and a half. other than that, pretty much anyone can do it. the write-up on goapr.com is pretty good...i'll take it out tonight and let you guys know what i think.
yea, that's the one i used.....bryan, didn't you have a hell of a time getting the new one on? what did you do? i used a pry bar and had myself and my brother pressing that bitch in for a good 20-30 minutes before it popped into place.
hahahahaha u guys convinced me i just ordered this one

You can try the pure. I have heard from my tuner that it is slightly less stiff, but I don't know. When my snub mount was put in, it felt like there as a wasps nest under my gas pedal. No harm done, but it was extremely annoying. Had to go back underneath and re-seat it several times before I could get the vibration under control. I had it done when my timing belt was replaced.
the tiptronic shifts feel a bit stiffer, but it is still a slush box. If you want much crisper shifts, you can upgrade the control unit for the transmission with a "tip chip" from AWE tuning.

DAMNIT, i wish i would've seen a post on that before i went at it...after 10 minutes of struggling, i was considering sticking it in the microwave, but i wasn't sure if it was safe...so i just kept going at it, and after maybe 20-30 minutes i finally got it [:@]

I popped it into the microwave for 20 seconds. Came out hot as hell, but with a little spit, it just slipped right on there.
