i've look on other threads and also on borlas website ... and borla does not make a muffler that if for the audi a4 ... so which muffler are you guys using and talking about all the time?... i listened to one of borlas sound clips of their sport compact kits and it wasnt as low as i would like ... it was still very nice but are there any other once taht would be a bit lower...

 

I got my borla exhaust from AWE when i called borla they couldnt find a system for the a4 but they do make it. To anwser the second part i dont know one with a lower sound but if you get a borla you wont be upset

megnaflow has a new exhaust for audi just came out but i have not heard or road in anyother audis with other exhaust sorry

 

the borla sound out of my 1.8T is definitely lower than their sport compact sound clip. i think it's the turbo that makes it growl so nicely, but whatever it is it's awesome. Borla sells a catback for the A4s. I hunted around and wound up with techtonics pipes and borla mufflers.

 

ok .... yeah i'm just looking for the muffler ... nothin else ... i just want an easy DIY job and yet get an awsome result....

 

ok but i still want to know exactly which muffler is the one for a 98' audi a4 2.8 30v quattro manual .... i know i could use a few mufflers but what is everyone out there using ? ... i dont want to mess this up haha thanks

 

let me see if i understand this right.......

you want a muffler and nothing else ?? RICE !!!!!!!

first off, a muffler and nothing else is not going to give you ANY , I REPEAT ANY, noticable difference in performance,
it's just gonna make it sound different (and generally, worse)

if you are going to put exaust on your car, you're car will sound different,
but for god's sake, dont put 1 piece of an exaust on your car just for the sound...

ppppppppffffffffffffff........... or sell your Audi and buy a Honda
