Need help on getting the fans disconnected from the car so I can take off the old fan shroud assembly.

On my b6, there are the 2 wires that go to the fans themselves. Then they run to a metal little box connected to the rad support. What is that box? And how do I disconnect the fans from that box so that I can put them onto the new shroud?

I'm so close to being able to drive my car, just need a few more answers.

 

If i recall correctly there are no connectors. You have to cut and splice the new one in. Pretty much the only time you have to do that on these cars. Haave you checked the new one. does it have a connector or just some wires.
