The PA turnpike kicks ***...definitley got it up to 120 driving down to Philly.

I've heard someone on the forum refer to the noise made by failing control arms as "two inflated balloons rubbing together"...or is that CV joint? can't remember.

this DEFINITLY sounds like an out-of-balance wheel..

thats what i had it chalked up to until last week.
i figured since i was getting my summer tires taken off and the snow's mounted and balanced
the problem would go away

but like i said, unless the tire-guy just happened to put the same corner off-balance, i'm thinking it's something else now

good thing it's not noticable at 120+ !!

p.s. ... Jazz, my personal record on the turnpike is 135 ..... whew, thats just about as fast as i think i could handle... car may have had a little more, but my nerves were at their redline...

I took it up to 146 in my old saab on the PA turnpike, I figured that was pushing it on public roads so I let off.

JD, My bet was CV joints. I hope the wheel bearing thing fixes it. Let us know.

I just got my rear passenger wheel bearing replaced. The symptoms you described were very similar to mine.

PA Turnpike= Pennsabahn
There's something wrong if you're not doing 80-90mph.

I had the same thing on right front wheel bearing, replacing it took care of it, so far I've had 3 of 4 wheel bearings replaced. All covered under the extended warranty at least.
