i opened my oil cap the other day to do an oil change and i noticed that there is a lot of build up. i mean i can rub my finger in there and pull out globs of build up. someone told me that it is not good to have that, thatit might be bad for my lifters and all. what should i do about this. is there a way to fix this without having to bring it to the mechanic to be fixed? thanks

is it white or what... if its white sounds like you got a leaking head gasket or are geeting coolant in to the oil in one way or another

 

itsn ot white, its black, i guess oil build up. and i do have a broken valve cover gasket which i am having replaced today. should i be worring about the build up? theres a lot of it.
