if you go with ebay i would be careful, make sure they are quattro compatible if you have quattro or vise versa... i would honestly stay away from ebay though. who told you bilstein is the best???? i do not agree. as others on here also wont agree. if you are in the 600 price range, you can find a pretty nice coilover setup for close to that. shop around with reputable sites and stay away from ebay. someone on here will probably come up with some setups that will suite your needs.

Without a link to what your considering buying, we can't help you in that regard. Bilstein Sport are good shocks, not necessarily the best, but good nonetheless. Koni also makes a good shock for our car. You could also go the coilover route.

How much do you want to lower your car? How much ride comfort are you willing to lose? How much is money an issue?

I just put the Vmaxx coilover set-up on my car. I was expecting a harsh ride, but that's not the case. On the highway the expansion joints are no more noticeable than with my worn out stock set-up. And yes, coilovers are shocks and springs together. Nothing else to buy. Check out Stratmosphere for the Vmaxx set-up.

you would either go with a set of coilovers or shocks and springs

coulovers are basically adjustable shocks/springs...they are normally #1 pick for the guys who hit the track, and/or the peeps who live where it snows and like to raise their cars a bit in the winter for clearence...

if you aren't guna hit the track and it doesn't snow where you are, then i would say that you could definately get by with a set of shocks and springs, rather than a set of coilovers...

post a link of the shock/spring set you were looking at
